The risks were strongly dose-dependent: patients receiving higher doses (≥56 mg nasal or 0.40 mg/kg IV) experienced roughly twice the relative risk of nausea and more than triple the relative risk of dissociation compared with lower-dose groups. While esketamine was associated with improved clinical response rates, it was also linked to a 2.22-fold increase in treatment discontinuation due to adverse events.
